Continuing Professional Development
The training needs of all technical and support staff are regularly assessed and the appropriate training is implemented which may include the following:
- Research carried out by the individual. At RPA the ability to apply engineering fundamentals to new problems supported by appropriate research is considered an essential training technique
- External courses
- In house training by RPA engineers or specialists.
- Technical courses by equipment or system suppliers.
- All personnel are encouraged to keep abreast of current technology by reference to professional publications, principally the CIBSE Journal.
RPA are members of the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) which provides library facilities and regular technical reports from research programmes etc. We are also members of the British Standards Institute (BSI)
RPA has supported a number of it's personnel in further education courses including: a Masters Degree in Engineering Services, an HND in Business Management, National Certificate in Building Studies and an Apprenticeship in Administration. Currently, one engineer is being supported through a Masters Degree in Building Services Engineering and a CAD technician is progressing his career by doing a Foundation Degree of Science in Building Services Engineering.
